My darlings,
Come let us gather,
Let’s chat and laugh; gather round the table.
Let’s make a toast
(chink chink)
Here’s to The Still, The Consecrated and Bubbly!
Here’s to friends and family and a sweet way of life…
Stifled by the summer, I go out at the end of the day in search of the trade-off
Traipsing through the overgrown old suburbs, gathering up lush greenery, tropical fruits and flora by the armful
Each piece, each ripe and saturated bloom, a balm for my soul
The Gods are still in the restless mountains; human hands of pure kindness tending incense powders of red and deeper reds and marigolds threaded around your neck on a wing and a prayer. My eternal love; Nepal.
She holds the light, radiating comfort;
A shield.
Casting shadows and flickering scents of forest and feasting,
Sensual; embodied in her wax.
I’ll adorn you; you’ll adore me.
Farmed and fenced; only the weeds grow wild now. A land of wide grey skies and sensibilities, cold blood and bluestone, threaded with fishhooks, glimpses of silver and gold. I always come back.
An ancestral memory, embodied. By way of Chinese whispers the stories of an heirloom evolve. The object identified and swaddled and passed down in the guise of ‘eternal’. It takes pride of place. In each new spot, our people are reincarnated.
Savouring the bean. A ground coffee morning ritual turned full circle; double the ritual. Delicious aroma and the flavour; the grit and the good oil. Grums.

The balancing act.
An intimate portrait, more than a mere representation of physical apperance, moreover, something of the sitters character, their inner lives; something of their ju-ju.
Floral crowns denote a regal role in part. I am however reachable, tethered still to this earth. I flourish and bloom, seemingly at will. But destiny prevails.
A book-mark for my favorite shopkeeper.
From Paris balconies and Algerian nights, I honour my coffee in timeless vessels of Moroccan hues. My senses and spirit, delighted.
